Problem

When converting static HTML pages or technical documents into PPTX, manual copying easily loses heading hierarchy, table styling, list structure, and code readability. html-to-ppt automates local HTML conversion, turning structured content into slides and reducing repetitive reformatting.

How It Works

The skill reads a local HTML file and uses python-pptx, beautifulsoup4, lxml, and Pillow for parsing and layout. Key conversion rules include:
- h1–h6 act as slide separators and titles;
- extracted content generates a cover page with a dark theme;
- paragraph text is reflowed to fit slide width;
- HTML tables are rendered with dark headers and zebra striping;
- ordered and unordered lists preserve structure;
- local relative-path images and base64 embedded images are supported;
- code blocks use a monospaced font on a gray background;
- <hr> becomes a visual divider.
When no output path is specified, it writes a same-name .pptx file next to the HTML source.

Boundaries

It fits clean HTML presentations, project notes, metric reports, and technical document drafts, but not complex web layouts, interactive components, CSS animations, or pages requiring pixel-perfect browser rendering. Because conversion relies on tag and semantic structure, heading levels, table nesting, and image paths in the source HTML directly affect the PPTX output; use clear headings, stable tables, and accessible images.
