About this skill

What It Solves

In slide design, the harder problem is often not missing content but poor visual organization: text blocks crowd each other, graphic elements drift out of alignment, data pages lack clear emphasis, and comparison or timeline pages become hard to scan. PPT Layout addresses these page-level layout issues by turning manual layout adjustments into reusable checks, helping move a deck from a stack of assets to a deliverable structure.

How It Works

The skill uses the ALIGN layout method to organize each page across five dimensions:
- Anchor alignment: constrain element positions with grid references to reduce drift and baseline mismatches;
- Layer hierarchy: use font size, weight, and spacing to establish reading priority;
- Image captions: connect charts, screenshots, and illustrations with the right labels and explanations;
- Negative space: control visual density and avoid element stacking;
- Glance readability: make titles, conclusions, and data labels recognizable during a quick scan.

In practice, provide the scene, audience, key information, and constraints first, then request a specific module such as a data page, comparison page, or final polish. It can produce outputs like layout plans, polished drafts, layout cards, and checklists, making it useful as a structural draft before human refinement.

Where It Fits

The skill is best suited for image-text pages, data pages, comparison pages, timelines, and final slide polish. If the content depends on official outlines, current policies, or real-time data, treat official releases as authoritative. Important external deliverables still require human review and should follow your company template and internal visual standards.

Use Cases

  • Prepare a weekly meeting slide by aligning text blocks and screenshots on one page and highlighting the key conclusion.
  • Build a data slide where metric cards, trend charts, and annotations form a clear hierarchy instead of burying key numbers.
  • Organize a comparison or timeline slide with consistent order, spacing, and labels so reviewers can see differences or stages at a glance.
  • Review final slides for cramped text, misaligned elements, tight spacing, and unclear captions before delivery.

Best For

  • Business team members who prepare weekly, monthly, or project report slides and need to turn scattered points into readable pages.
  • Consultants building product proposals or client decks who need consistent layouts for data, comparison, and conclusion pages.
  • Operations or product managers placing charts, screenshots, and captions into slides and wanting to reduce manual alignment work.
  • Design executors preparing training materials or internal sharing decks who need a final check on alignment, whitespace, and scanability.
