Problem

The usual blocker in Excel formula work is not copying a formula, but describing the data layout, function compatibility, and error cause. VLOOKUP may return #N/A, multi-condition lookup may need INDEX plus MATCH, and XLOOKUP depends on whether the workbook runs on a compatible version.

How it works

The skill turns natural-language requests into formulas for Excel, WPS, or Google Sheets. The main flow is:
- Clarify the request: identify the relevant columns, expected result, and Excel version.
- Generate the formula: provide a primary formula and, where useful, alternatives such as classic functions, newer functions, or array formulas.
- Explain each argument: describe parameter meaning instead of only pasting syntax.
- Add error safeguards: list likely causes of #N/A, #REF!, and #VALUE!, and suggest wrapping with IFERROR.

Boundaries

It only produces formula text and does not operate on local files. It is not suited for bulk ETL, automation workflows, database queries, or advanced visualization. For deeply nested logic, event-driven tasks, or large data processing, prefer VBA, Power Query, or a database solution.
