Problem

In everyday office work, the hard part of Excel is often not formulas, but turning a vague requirement into a table that can be shared immediately: unclear column structure, inconsistent formatting, percentages or currency values stored as text, and no visual trend. This skill converts a one-sentence request into a themed .xlsx file with formulas, formatting, and charts, reducing manual layout and back-and-forth fixes.

How It Works

The skill first checks how clear the request is. For a clear request, it uses direct mode to emit constrained JSON and then renders the workbook with the local script render_xlsx.py. For an open-ended request, it first proposes 2-3 structure options, then generates the file after confirmation.
- Themes: business, premium, gradient, and vibrant are matched to reports, finance, brand, and growth contexts.
- Formula-first: computed fields such as totals, amounts, and growth rates use formulas, and the script adjusts row offsets.
- Formatting: columns can use comma, percent, or yuan, while numeric cells remain numbers.
- Charts: time-series or trend data can include bar or line charts.

Boundaries

It fits ledgers, budgets, weekly reports, and sales dashboards. For ad hoc notes, complex macros, or cross-workbook logic, manual design is still safer. Check the openpyxl dependency before rendering, and validate JSON fields when the renderer reports an error.
