Music Information Organizer

Problem

Local music folders often contain scattered files with mixed formats, inconsistent names, missing tags, or mojibake. Music Information Organizer addresses directory-level cleanup by scanning mp3, flac, m4a, ogg, and other audio files, then summarizing file count, total size, format distribution, and available metadata such as Title, Artist, Album, Year, and Track.

How it works

The skill exposes three modes:
- report: generates a library report with totals, format breakdown, metadata completeness, and abnormal files.
- organize: builds an Artist/Album/Track structure. It prefers embedded tags, falls back to patterns like Artist - Album - Track or Track. Title, and routes unclassifiable files to Uncategorized.
- fix-meta: trims whitespace and illegal filename characters, normalizes names to Track - Title.ext, attempts to backfill missing tags, and handles ID3v2.3 encoding mistakes.

Boundaries

It relies on the local filesystem, PowerShell, Shell.Application, or optional ffprobe. By default it copies files; moving requires user confirmation. Files with severe tag loss, corruption, or encoding errors are listed as exceptions, but original metadata is not guaranteed to be recovered.
