Problem
Debate prep often gets stuck in vague summaries, scattered points, and empty rebuttals. This skill targets debate preparation and debate topic analysis, turning rough notes into a structure that can be practiced, challenged, and used in a live debate. It is not a speech writer, nor a substitute for rehearsal.
How It Works
The skill first confirms the debate topic and the side being argued, then works through four steps:
- Understand the topic: clarify scope, core points of contention, and hidden assumptions.
- Build arguments: generate a main-argument framework and attach
data, examples, and supporting logic to each point. - Attack and defense: predict the opposing side’s arguments, then design counter-questions, defensive responses, and on-the-spot pivot tactics.
- Delivery optimization: refine the opening, closing, memorable lines, and fallback responses to tough follow-up questions.
The output emphasizes logical connection, balanced offense and defense, and practical phrasing. It can also support mock debate: the user states a position while the skill role-plays the opposing side.
Boundaries
It fits pre-debate research, topic breakdown, and attack-defense drills. It is not suitable for speech writing, argumentative essays, or rigorous academic argumentation. The data and examples should be verified, and the generated points are reference material that still needs to be internalized and rehearsed. If the user’s side is unclear, the skill asks for confirmation before producing a detailed plan.
