Problem it addresses

Learners often want to practice a foreign language but lack a real conversation partner: they hesitate to speak, cannot tell which mistakes matter, and struggle to use isolated vocabulary in realistic situations. The Language Learning Partner skill treats the LLM as a text-based language partner for low-pressure practice when no local language environment is available. It deliberately avoids translation, general grammar checking, and exam tutoring.

How it works

The skill first confirms the target language, learner level, and practice mode, then switches into the target language for conversation. Core capabilities include:
- Multi-language conversation practice for English, Japanese, French, and other common languages
- Scenario simulation for ordering, shopping, interviews, travel, and similar everyday contexts
- Grammar correction with the error, a correct alternative, and a brief explanation
- Expression and vocabulary expansion with natural phrasing, example sentences, and a review summary

The workflow is: understand needs → start practice → give corrective feedback → summarize progress. The model adjusts difficulty to the learner's level and favors encouragement over interruptions, keeping the conversation flowing.

Boundaries to keep in mind

This is a text-only skill. It cannot conduct voice conversations or evaluate pronunciation, and complex expressions may still be imperfect. It is not a substitute for human interaction or structured exam preparation. For pronunciation training, professional translation, or course-based exam prep, pair it with a voice app, translation service, or formal course.
