Before reaching for dsh plugin install, you have probably wondered: will this plugin break my web compose? Is the npm version in sync with the repo? A BREAKING release just landed in dsh upstream — does my current set of plugins still load? Today that means leaving the workspace, opening a browser, and hunting down an observatory site by hand. dsh-insights-kit collapses that whole loop into a single ✦ button in the dsh sidebar: click, and the answer is a drawer right there.

The panel offers three sections. Audit reads the active profile manifest on the host side and batch-checks every installed plugin against the health-v5 rubric — an S-through-D grade with a 0–100 score, npm version-drift hints, a conservative dsh-compatibility verdict, and red «won't load» marks for any client-bundle external require that the on-disk dsh shell cannot resolve. Check accepts an owner/repo path or a GitHub URL and renders the full health card in seconds: four dimension bars, a severity-tagged deduction list, one-click install or uninstall (hot-mount capable hosts activate immediately with just a page refresh, others converge on the next web restart), and a Top-5 similar-picks strip. Scenarios browses use-case recommendations with a one-line rationale each, and clicking any entry jumps straight into its Check card. All data flows through the official ctx.webServer.register seam on the loopback trust boundary; no extra network surface is opened.

It is most useful for two audiences. Production dsh users who run a growing set of plugins and want the panel to watch version drift, compatibility windows, and BREAKING upstream releases on their behalf. And plugin authors: a bundled read-only CLI runs the same health-v5 rulebook against a local plugin directory, prints the score, per-item fix guidance, npm consistency, and a shell seed-drift guard, and exits with code 1 on any fail-tier deduction — ready to drop into a CI pre-publish gate.
