About this skill
Problem
Hydroponic beginners often see burned leaves, yellowing, root discoloration, or decay without knowing whether the nutrient solution is too concentrated or too dilute. This skill uses visual cues from transparent-container roots and young or old leaves as a diagnostic entry point, giving growers a directional check without relying on an EC meter or ppm reading.
How it works
The skill accepts jpg/png images or mp4/avi/mov videos up to 10 MB, either from local files or network URLs. It analyzes hydroponic root and leaf imagery and focuses on:
- Root color: white suggests healthy tissue, yellow suggests early stress, brown suggests severe stress, and black suggests rot risk;
- Leaf morphology: tip burn, leaf-margin scorch, yellowing, and curling;
- Adjustment direction: qualitative advice to dilute with fresh water or add concentrated nutrient solution, rather than specific EC or ppm values.
For report queries, --list can retrieve cloud-stored historical reports and render them as a Markdown list. This makes a single assessment easier to track over time.
Boundaries
The output is meant as a hydroponic care reference and should not replace instrument measurement. If severe over-concentration, severe dilution, root rot, or widespread leaf burn appears, flush the solution immediately and observe for 24 hours. Capture roots and leaves clearly, preferably in separate shots.
Use Cases
- Assess yellow leaf tips in home lettuce and decide whether nutrient solution needs dilution or topping up.
- Generate a structured risk report from rack camera images showing yellow roots and leaf-margin scorch.
- Diagnose burnt seedlings from root and leaf photos and get directional advice on dilution or nutrient addition.
- Review weekly plant-factory root images and query historical assessment reports to track adjustments.
Best For
- Home hydroponic beginners who need quick directional checks after burn or deficiency.
- Hydroponic rack maintainers who review root and leaf images regularly and archive reports.
- Plant factory operators who turn periodic visual assessments into tracked report lists.
- Research hydroponic staff comparing root and leaf stress patterns under different nutrient treatments.
