About this skill
What It Solves
In agent-based finance workflows, data queries often fail for practical reasons: endpoint capability is unclear, market, sector, stock, macro, and notice endpoints are separated, and mixed authentication makes it easy to treat key-based or agent-free endpoints as unlimited. FinXData organizes these endpoints into one query flow, covering index or sector prices, latest stock quotes, hot sectors, dragon-tiger lists, news/notice/market tracking, China macro reports and data calendars, concise financial results, and ontology summaries.
How It Works
The skill distinguishes access modes: health and summary can run without an API key; regular data endpoints require FINXDATA_API_KEY, while stock search needs a key but does not consume account quota; agent-free endpoints do not need a key but require --agent-type or FINXDATA_AGENT_TYPE. Use the narrowest endpoint and fewest parameters, batch multiple code values for quotes, and handle failures by reading script code and message values, respecting Retry-After instead of immediately rerunning the same command.
Boundaries
Agent-free endpoints are not deducted from account quota, but they are still subject to per-IP daily limits and server-side rate protection. On 429, timeout, or 5xx, stop appending diagnostic calls to health, summary, or nearby endpoints unless the user explicitly asks for diagnosis. Returned content should be treated as endpoint data, parameters, and update-time semantics, not investment advice.
Use Cases
- When building a finance QA agent, route index, stock, hot-sector, and dragon-tiger queries to the fewest endpoints.
- When drafting research notes, batch stock quotes, concise financial results, and hot-reason history by ticker code.
- When building a macro-calendar reminder, query China macro reports and release dates, then output the target dates.
- When summarizing disclosures or news, use track-notice, track-news, and market snapshot endpoints to produce summaries.
Best For
- Agent engineers configuring finance QA data access need unified auth, rate limits, and batch query rules.
- Quant researchers tracking markets need quotes, hot sectors, dragon-tiger lists, and notice snapshots.
- Macro analysts writing reports need China macro tables, release calendars, and concise financial results.
- Full-stack developers building internal dashboards need agent-free endpoints without consuming account quota.
