How the Skill Works
This skill turns the workflow into executable steps:
- Bulk sending: reads recipients from CSV or Excel and sends personalized messages row by row.
- Template management: uses Jinja2 for variables, conditions, and loops.
- Attachment handling: allows different files for different recipients.
- Scheduled sending: triggers at specified times for reports, notices, or recurring tasks.
- SMTP setup: supports QQ Mail, 163 Mail, Gmail, enterprise mail, and similar providers.
- Inbox monitoring: reads unread mail and extracts summaries.
- Auto-reply: replies according to defined rules.
The usual sequence is to configure SMTP, prepare a recipient file with an email column, author the template, test the connection, then send or monitor the inbox.
Boundaries and Caveats
It fits internal notices, pre-processed customer support, report distribution, and rule-based follow-up, not high-volume marketing blasts or complex approval workflows. For security, prefer an app-specific password. The config file is stored at ~/.email_automation/smtp_config.json, and the password is stored with Base64 encoding rather than encryption.
