About this skill

Problem

Exporting PDF pages as images is often blocked by details: Chinese text and printed graphics may look blurry, page selection can be ambiguous, and Python dependencies may be hard to pin down. PDF to Image renders unencrypted PDFs to PNG without requiring manual screenshots, ad hoc fitz scripts, or repeated trial and error across interpreters.

How It Works

  • Input parsing: reads the user-supplied PDF path and page intent, then writes output to a timestamped PDF转图 folder on the desktop.
  • Environment detection: uses scripts/detect_env.py to enumerate Python interpreters, test fitz availability, and select TARGET_PYTHON, avoiding reliance on the default PATH interpreter or duplicate installs.
  • Conversion: renders pages at a fixed 2x resolution, roughly 144 DPI, with support for one page, a selected page, or all pages; multi-page PDFs require confirmation before full conversion.
  • Verification: checks the output folder, page count, file sizes, and resolution, then reports successful and failed pages.

Limits

It fits documents, invoices, reports, and other clean PDFs where clear PNG output is enough. It does not support encrypted or corrupted PDFs, does not run OCR, and renders scanned PDFs as-is. Current output is PNG only, resolution is fixed, and the skill does not modify the original PDF, batch multiple files, skip environment checks, or overwrite existing files silently.

Use Cases

  • Export a selected page from a single unencrypted PDF contract to a clear PNG for tickets or email attachments.
  • Render all pages of a multi-page PDF report into images after user confirmation, saved under a timestamped desktop folder.
  • Detect the local Python interpreter and install the matching `PyMuPDF` package before converting when dependencies are uncertain.
  • Render scanned PDFs to PNG for layout review without running OCR.

Best For

  • Customer support engineers who need PDF pages as images for tickets or documentation
  • Business reviewers who check layouts in contracts, reports, or invoices
  • Automation engineers who need stable `fitz` rendering across multiple Python interpreters
  • Design execution staff who convert unencrypted PDFs into PNGs for secondary layout work
