About this skill

What It Solves

Document proofreading often gets stuck on details: Chinese 的/得/地, 在/再, 已/以, idiomatic misuse, English receive, their/there/they're, capitalization, mismatched punctuation, and mixed-language spacing such as missing spaces between Chinese and English or inconsistent full-width/half-width symbols. Manual review can miss these issues, while character-by-character fixing is time-consuming. This skill turns them into checkable items with concrete correction suggestions.

How It Works

The workflow reads the document first, then checks it step by step. It supports pasted text, uploaded files, or file paths. Core capabilities include:

  • Chinese typo detection: near-homograph, near-homophone, and common idiom errors such as 变本加厉 and 一筹莫展.
  • English spelling and usage checks: word spelling, proper-noun capitalization, and confusing words like affect/effect.
  • Mixed-language and punctuation checks: Chinese-English spacing, mixed punctuation, matched quotes/parentheses, and ellipsis formatting.
  • Correction and summary: each issue gets a suggested fix, then a final report covers total errors, category counts, and overall text quality.

Boundaries

It is intended for natural-language documents and skips code snippets, URLs, and email addresses. Domain terms, personal names, place names, and brand names are preserved. Uncertain items are marked as 【疑】, optional style choices as 【建议】, so authorial expression is not treated as an error.

Use Cases

  • Before client proposals, scan documents for typos, punctuation, and mixed-language issues.
  • Upload English reports to check spelling, capitalization, and common confusing words.
  • Review bilingual notices for missing CJK spacing, full/half-width symbols, and punctuation misuse.
  • Before policy docs, verify matched quotes/parentheses, ellipsis format, and Chinese comma usage.

Best For

  • Presales engineers publishing client proposals who need to confirm Chinese wording, punctuation, and English terms are clean.
  • Technical writers maintaining English product docs who want consistent spelling, capitalization, and confusing-word usage.
  • Operations staff preparing bilingual notices who need to check spacing, full/half-width symbols, and punctuation.
  • Legal or admin staff filing internal policy documents who care about matched quotes/parentheses, ellipsis format, and comma misuse.
