About this skill

Problem

Writing market, competitive, or industry research notes often means chasing sources across Baidu, Zhihu, 36Kr, Google, Reddit, and arXiv. This skill targets requests like 'generate a research report on XX' and turns search, summarization, cross-checking, and Word output into a repeatable pipeline.

How It Works

The workflow runs in three stages:
- Multi-platform search: split the topic into 3-5 dimensions, such as market size, competitor comparison, architecture, user feedback, and business model, then run WebSearch across Chinese, English, and professional sources, followed by WebFetch on 5-10 high-quality pages.
- Summarization and analysis: create 100-200-word summaries, extract key data, claims, people, and timelines, cluster notes by theme, remove duplicates, and mark confidence for conclusions checked across sources.
- Word output: generate an A4 report with python-docx, including headings, body typography, table styling, headers/footers, cover page, and source URLs.

Boundaries

It suits document-style market scans, competitor reviews, and industry overviews, not deep consulting or quantitative modeling. The flow requires python-docx; recency depends on the current date, and unverified items should be marked as needs verification.

Use Cases

  • When asked to deliver an AI coding assistant market overview within a week, search Chinese media and English forums, then compile a sourced Word report.
  • Before a product kickoff, organize key players, business models, and user pain points into a shareable report with sources.
  • During competitor review, collect reviews, architecture signals, and release notes from Zhihu, 36Kr, Reddit, and arXiv into a comparison summary.
  • For an industry weekly, search recent developments in a niche market, extract key data and claims, and output a cover-ready Word document.

Best For

  • Product analyst: needs to turn market size, competitor moves, and user feedback into review-ready material quickly.
  • Consultant: needs to deliver a sourced, well-structured industry overview and preliminary read to clients.
  • Tech lead: needs to aggregate competitor architecture, research signals, and community discussion before project kickoff.
  • Operations lead: needs to consolidate pre-campaign market and channel information into a formal document.
