About this skill
Problem
The issue with PPT generation using gpt-image-2 is not image creation, but unstable style, weak layout control, and real images getting flattened into backgrounds. Manual prompts can drift across cover, data, and content pages. Template cloning also depends on local renderers, while key and proxy setup often get mixed with business projects.
How it works
gpt-image2-ppt-skills reduces inputs to slides_plan.md / slides_plan.json plus styles/*.md. The workflow starts from a human-readable Markdown outline, derives JSON via md_to_plan.py, builds page prompts by style, generates 16:9 PNGs page by page, and packages them into a .pptx.
- Style presets: gradient-glass, clean-tech-blue, swiss-grid, etc. target scene-specific visual consistency.
- Template cloning: render_template.py renders .pptx pages into PNGs; a multimodal agent can build template_profile.json from them.
- Real images: external images are placed as independent PPT objects above the generated background, so they remain movable in PowerPoint.
- Recipes: product launch, investor pitch, weekly report, thesis defense templates are structure references, not substitute content or assets.
Boundaries
It fits cases with an outline, topic, or .pptx template, but it does not invent complete content and cannot assume every environment can render templates. Pure text agents need an external vision endpoint for template cloning; Codex-native image_generation should be called by the agent itself rather than proxied through a Python subprocess.
