About this skill
Problem
When building decks, the hard part is not “writing slides” but keeping research, outline, visuals, and the final .pptx in sync: sources may come from web results, user files, or context, and direct PPTX output is hard to preview or edit locally.
How It Works
The skill uses a research.md → HTML slides → .pptx pipeline:
- Collect material into research.md, with modes for web research, organizing user files, or AI-organized content.
- Plan each slide’s title and content_spec, defining the topic and structure without locking in final copy or layout.
- Initialize presentation.json as the source of truth for theme, slide order, and slides/ mappings; generate each slide as standalone HTML, usually serially, with parallel mode only when the platform supports sub-agent file writes.
- Slides use a 1280×720 canvas, Tailwind CSS, and Lucide icons; before export, icon names are validated and fixed, then Playwright headless Chromium renders the .pptx.
Fit and Caveats
It is useful for multi-slide, previewable decks that need incremental edits, such as reports, training materials, or topic research. Note that the outline step is blocking, slide file names should not be renamed after creation, and export can fail if fonts or Playwright dependencies are missing.
