What It Solves

Turn a user photo into a short video effect without manually hunting for template IDs, assembling API payloads, polling tasks, and handling key or link expiry. It wraps the Vidu template workflow into a conversational entry point for photo-to-video generation.

How It Works

• Template matching: maps natural requests to template_id values such as hulk, fashion_stride, or christmas.
• Photo requirement: uses only user-uploaded photos and prompts for upload when missing, rather than substituting default images.
• API execution: requires VIDU_API_KEY, starts asynchronous generation through a Python CLI, and polls task status until completion.
• Result handling: stores assets under {baseDir}/uploads/ and returns the video URL from creations[0].url.
• Special parameters: supports template-specific options like area for exotic_princess and beast for beast_companion.

Boundaries And Notes

• Generation is asynchronous, so status polling is required before reading the final result.
• The returned video URL is time-sensitive and should be used or downloaded promptly.
• An incorrect template ID can cause Template not found.
• Oversized images can trigger Image size exceeds; keep uploads below 50MB when possible.
• API domain selection affects routing: use api.vidu.cn for Simplified Chinese contexts and api.vidu.com for other languages.
