Product Quality Plan Generator

Problem

Manufacturers drafting product quality plans often get stuck on generic templates, unquantified metrics, and poor delivery formats. Quality objectives, inspection standards, risk controls, supplier requirements, and training duties are scattered across teams, making review, printing, and archival harder. This skill turns that writing process into an executable workflow for general manufacturing products, including machined parts, injection-molded parts, sheet-metal parts, and assemblies, and outputs ASQ-aligned Markdown and HTML documents.

How it works

It starts by collecting 8 required inputs: product name and model, description, product type, target market or customer, applicable standard, core quality metrics, main process flow, and key raw materials. It then uses references/quality-plan-outline.md to draft a 12-module outline and asks the user to confirm modules, subsections, and document number. After confirmation, it generates detailed content module by module, requiring metrics to include values, tolerances, frequencies, and percentages, and process steps to name owners and deliverables. Finally, scripts/generate_html.py converts ./_quality_plan.md into a corporate-style HTML file with a cover page, header and footer, table of contents, styled tables, and print optimization.

Boundaries

It is intended for creating, revising, or delivering product quality plans, quality control schemes, and quality management documents. The skill avoids pure generic templates; if materials, process details, metrics, or customer standards are missing, it can only fill gaps with industry best practices, so engineers must still verify compliance claims. HTML export depends on the template and script assets, and the first interaction introduces the workflow before collecting information.
