Problem

Low-voltage project quoting often gets stuck on scattered price data: equipment models live in historical spreadsheets, supplier quotes, and web pages, while brand, tax, and installation scope create wide price gaps. Giving a number from memory is hard to audit, compare, or convert into change orders. This skill targets structured cabling, CCTV, access control, networking, UPS, and related low-voltage systems, turning rough requirements into traceable quotations, price checks, cost estimates, and change-order calculations.

How It Works

It uses a tiered data source. First, it queries the IMA knowledge base via MCP for models, historical pricing, settlement templates, and installation norms. If no price is found, it cross-checks current market prices with at least two independent web sources using WebSearch and WebFetch. If both sources miss, it returns a market reference range and marks it as an estimate. Outputs are typically split into equipment, auxiliary materials, labor, commissioning, management fees, profit, and tax, with tax-inclusive status, brand tier, and risk notes.

Boundaries

Use it for internal budgets, procurement checks, pre-tender estimates, change orders, and brand comparisons. It is not a substitute for formal cost consulting, contractual pricing, or vendor final pricing. If project type, area, system scope, brand preference, or tax rate is missing, clarify first; treat regional labor prices, out-of-stock models, and soon-expired quotes as risk-sensitive.
