About this skill
Problem
When a user asks for “tech news,” “AI updates,” or “finance trends,” a generic news feed can mix top stories, cross-domain items, and noise. This skill narrows the query to a specific ZAKER category, making it easier to get recent updates for one vertical.
How It Works
The core step is calling get_category_articles:
- Detect category: infer intent such as technology, finance, sports, entertainment, internet, automotive, military, domestic, or international;
- Build request: map the intent to an
app_id, for example technology is13, finance is4, sports is8; - Fetch data: the endpoint returns 20 articles sorted by publish time in descending order;
- Format output: present each item with a clickable Markdown title, summary, and author in parentheses.
It fits soft category queries, follow-up questions from top news, and switching between domains. Note that the API requires no API key, but categories are limited to the fixed ZAKER app_id set and each call returns a fixed 20 items. If pagination, deeper result sets, or keyword-level search is required, another capability should be used.
