What Problem It Solves

Tencent IMA’s official OpenAPI package is best suited for read-and-append workflows, but engineers often need to batch Chinese notes, translated documents, and repository use cases into knowledge-base subfolders and verify that files actually land there. This skill adapts the official v1.1.7 package to a Hermes-style interface without changing API endpoints or field names. It adds a bin/ima CLI, credential-path alignment, an upload-file convenience wrapper, and practical constraints around folder_id namespaces, GATE3 deduplication, and pagination.

How It Works

• Credential checks: prefer IMA_OPENAPI_CLIENTID and IMA_OPENAPI_APIKEY, then .env and config files, to avoid false “missing credential” reports.
• Batch ingestion: after check-name, file uploads run through check_repeated_names, create_media, COS upload, and add_knowledge; browse-kb results must be followed with cursor pagination before counting items.
• Landing verification: do not trust code:0 alone; compare subfolder item counts and confirm that the target subfolder actually received the entries.

Boundaries and Caveats

• The OpenAPI surface does not provide stable delete, overwrite, or reliable move; move_knowledge can return success while doing nothing, and accidental empty notes may require manual cleanup.
• Note-mode entries attach to the KB root and cannot be moved into subfolders; use file-upload mode and prefer folder_-prefixed IDs for subfolder targets.
• upload-file creates new entries rather than overwriting them; re-uploading the same name or content may create duplicates, and --force only adds a timestamp.
• Note writes require UTF-8 handling, especially in PowerShell 5.1, where request bodies must be explicitly converted to UTF-8 bytes.
