GB/T 7714-2025 Literature Indexer

Problem

When writing papers, reports, or policy documents, reference lists often fail because metadata is incomplete, citation placement is weak, or formatting is inconsistent. GB/T 7714-2025 defines precise rules for titles, authors, publication information, and electronic resource paths, but manual cleanup can miss fields or mix older rules. The Literature Indexer turns this into a workflow: ingest DOI, URL, or PDF clues, extract metadata such as title, authors, year, source, volume, issue, and pages, and format entries with type markers like [M], [J], [R], [EB/OL], and [DS]. It also suggests citation placement by matching draft claims to candidate sources, providing reviewable insertion points, rationale, and alternatives.

Capabilities, limits, and cautions

• Automatic formatting: orders, deduplicates, and standardizes cited entries into a sequential reference list.
• Version tracking: maps support, challenge, and evolution relationships, and flags newer versions or retraction risk.
• Human review: users should confirm literature type, citation placement, and DOI/URL or access dates, especially for electronic resources without DOIs.
• Scope: fits academic papers, research reports, policy documents, and books; it is not a full replacement for EndNote or Zotero, nor a sole basis for legal or regulatory decisions.
