About this skill

Problem

This skill turns Serenity's supply-chain bottleneck method into a reusable analysis workflow for semiconductor, AI compute, CPO, and robotics value chains. It is not a market-data tool or a trading bot. It helps analysts answer three questions before selecting a stock: which layer is the physical bottleneck, whether the thesis survives adversarial review, and whether the target has asymmetric upside.

How It Works

It provides core mental models and a calling route:
- Bottleneck hunting: decompose the stack from end product down to critical nodes that cannot be bypassed.
- Physical layer first: prioritize capacity, materials, equipment, packaging, interconnect, and other physical constraints over narratives.
- Red-blue reasoning: attack the investment thesis to expose technical limits, substitutes, and valuation gaps.
- Asymmetrical upside: target small-cap, high-moat, under-covered names with limited downside and large upside.
- Map thinking: place the stock inside the broader industry map to check concentration, substitutes, and geopolitical risk.

Use the quick paths: model 1 + model 2 for bottleneck checks, model 3 for hypothesis testing, model 4 + model 1 for high-odds targets, and model 5 + heuristic 8 for geopolitical shocks. If concentration conflicts with map breadth, fall back to physical-layer priority.

Limits

The framework is best for engineers, analysts, and researchers with industry-reading ability. It should not be used as a direct buy signal. Identity claims, returns, and case studies are self-reported or externally described and need cross-checking. Small-cap liquidity, single-technology dependence, and export-control risk require separate assessment. Without a semiconductor background or AI tooling, simplify with three counterarguments and a red-team checklist.

Use Cases

  • Evaluate AI compute, CPO, or robotics chains to identify irreplaceable supply bottleneck nodes.
  • Stress-test a small-cap investment thesis by exposing substitutes, technical limits, and valuation gaps.
  • Place a stock in the industry map to review concentration, substitutes, and export-control risk.
  • During drawdowns, re-check whether the physical-layer thesis has changed before trimming or holding.

Best For

  • Semiconductor or AI supply-chain analysts who decompose end products into equipment, materials, and packaging to find bottlenecks.
  • Small-cap tech investors seeking asymmetric upside in under-covered, high-moat names.
  • Holders wanting a red-team review to challenge their own buy theses before decisions.
  • Engineering or strategy researchers converting technology trends into testable industry questions.
