Youdao Note Read Search Create Helper

Problem

The youdaonote CLI can already operate Youdao Notes, but real workflows are easy to break: command flags vary by version, non-top-level folders are hard to locate, create may drop Markdown formatting, and editing .note rich-text files can corrupt or overwrite content.

How It Works

The skill reduces the common path to three steps: read for plain-text note content, search / list for folder discovery, and save for creating Markdown notes. Start by confirming that youdaonote list returns the top-level directory tree. For a target folder outside the top level, first run search "XX" to obtain the folder ID, then use list -f <ID>. Use read <fileId> to fetch a note. For new notes, always use save with contentFormat: "md" and pass parentId when a target folder is known. To extend an existing .note, create a sibling .md note instead of modifying the original file.

Boundaries

This skill assumes a local youdaonote CLI install and an API Key. It documents constraints such as certain CLI versions rejecting a global -s flag, and network or file-write operations may require unsandboxed execution. It is suited for reading, searching, and creating Markdown notes, not for general rich-text editing or guaranteed cross-version CLI compatibility.
