About this skill

Problem

Drug evaluations often split clinical, regulatory, commercial, and payer views into separate documents. Clinicians cite trial evidence, market teams track reimbursement, and business teams compare competitors. The result is fragmented material with inconsistent definitions, making it hard to judge whether a drug can support project approval, hospital access, price negotiation, or patient-facing explanation. drug-analysis works on a specified drug or therapeutic area and combines the clinical profile with commercial assessment into one structured report, marking what is verified, inferred, or still needs checking.

How It Works

The skill requires a fixed delivery shell: metadata header, executive summary, main body, key conclusions and next steps, uncertainty checklist, and sources with evidence levels. The main body covers:

  • Product and mechanism: generic name, brand name, formulation, target, pharmacological class, and a one-line positioning statement.
  • Clinical profile: indications, the required evidence triad (key studies, guideline recommendations, expert consensus), dosing, PK, safety, regulatory status, and pipeline.
  • Commercial assessment: disease market, patient funnel, competitive landscape, reimbursement and centralized procurement, payer structure and pharmacoeconomics, channels, and prescriber perspectives.
  • Strategy output: SWOT, differentiation, key opportunities and risks; optional patient education copy with disclaimers.

A core constraint is traceability. Facts such as approval numbers, prices, procurement status, and approved indications require cross-checking from at least two independent sources. Time-sensitive items such as procurement, reimbursement, approval, and pipeline status must be verified before use and labeled with a cutoff date and measurement basis. Missing items keep their section and are marked to verify, rather than filled with plausible but unsupported numbers.

Boundaries

This is useful for project scoping, comprehensive review, upward reporting, and preparing factual background for content. If no drug or therapeutic area is provided, the skill should ask first. The output is for internal strategic reference and does not constitute medical advice, investment guidance, or a substitute for professional due diligence.

Use Cases

  • Prepare a go/no-go briefing by summarizing indications, key RCTs, guideline status, and competitive landscape.
  • Verify approval, reimbursement, procurement, and price basis before negotiation, flagging unverified items.
  • Draft patient-facing explainer copy on mechanism, benefit limits, and safety risks with disclaimers.
  • Build competitor benchmarking across market opportunity, channel mix, and payer risk differences.

Best For

  • Medical or market leads running new drug or generic projects, needing evidence, access risk, and competitive positioning together.
  • Reimbursement or market access teams verifying procurement, insurance category, price basis, source timeliness, and gaps.
  • Pharma content writers drafting patient education that avoids exaggeration and includes disclaimers.
  • Business or strategic analysts turning competitors, channels, payer structure, and SWOT into next actions.
