About this skill

Problem

Sellers working across marketplaces often receive order exports with inconsistent column names, missing fields, and platform-specific accounting rules. Seller Profit Calculator targets this workflow: it reads an .xlsx / .xls order export and produces a profit report broken down by order, platform, and store, while highlighting the worst-performing orders.

How It Works

  • Automatic field mapping: it prioritizes standard fields from common platforms and ERPs, then infers unknown columns from names and sample values.
  • Profit breakdown: it computes total revenue, total cost, net profit, and margin, then aggregates results by platform and store.
  • Order validation: it surfaces Top 5 and Bottom 5 orders and cross-checks calculated profit against platform-declared profit.
  • Readable output: it prints a Markdown report to stdout, making it easy to fold into local analysis pipelines.

Boundaries

The current version focuses on order-level profit data and does not yet support CSV or settlement reports. If the export lacks full fee detail, summary figures can still be affected by FX differences or internal settlement adjustments. It is best used to identify loss-making orders and audit cost structure, not to replace platform settlement.

Use Cases

  • A seller uploads a Temu order Excel and separates revenue, cost, and net profit by platform and store.
  • Ops receives ERP exports with mixed column names and auto-maps order ID, revenue, and cost to flag loss-making orders.
  • Finance cross-checks platform-declared profit against calculated profit to locate order-level fee discrepancies.
  • Cross-platform sellers compare real per-order profitability from Allegro and TikTok exports.

Best For

  • Cross-border e-commerce sellers: need to identify loss-making and profitable orders.
  • Marketplace ops: need to normalize order exports into one profit view.
  • Finance analysts: need to reconcile platform-declared profit with local calculations.
  • Developers: need to embed field mapping and profit parsing in custom scripts.
