About this skill

Problem Addressed

A-share valuation is often reduced to “Is PE high?” or “Is the historical percentile low?”, but PE, PB, PS, and PEG are not interchangeable across business models. This skill turns valuation judgment into a verifiable workflow: confirm the appropriate metric, assess current level and historical position, test fundamental support for growth, then output a conclusion with follow-up indicators.

How It Works

  • Ticker resolution: accepts a stock name or 6-digit code; names are resolved through search first.
  • Data sources: relies on investoday-finance-data and calls interfaces such as stock/basic-info, stock/finance/valuation, stock/finance/valuation-hist, stock/val-indicators, stock/finance/profit-ability, stock/finance/growth-ability, and report/stock-forecast-ratings.
  • Analysis framework: a five-step structure covering valuation metric selection, current valuation snapshot, historical percentile and margin of safety, valuation-fundamental fit, and overall valuation conclusion.
  • Evidence constraints: conclusions must cite at least two numeric data points, state time ranges, and avoid buy/sell prices, position sizing, or timing advice.

Scope and Caveats

This skill is suited for valuation-state assessment rather than short-term timing or deep financial-quality diagnostics. For highly cyclical companies or firms with volatile earnings, relying on PE alone can be misleading; use PB, PS, ROE, and growth expectations as cross-checks.

Use Cases

  • Analysts checking whether an A-share stock’s current PE, PB, or PEG is high or low and producing a concise conclusion.
  • Advisors explaining a stock’s historical percentile and margin of safety to clients with evidence, not opinions.
  • Buy-side reviewers comparing growth metrics, PEG, and target-price gaps to flag overvalued names.
  • Editors summarizing current valuation, historical position, and fundamental fit for a market weekly report.

Best For

  • Buy-side analysts tracking A-share valuation bands and flagging overvalued names.
  • Investment advisors explaining PE, PB, and percentile context to clients with evidence.
  • Market writers structuring stock valuation points for weekly research notes.
  • Independent investors checking whether a stock’s current valuation looks high or low.
