About this skill

Problem Solved

Between “what to build” and “how to build it profitably,” early product work often lacks a practical bridge from market signals to engineering inputs. Concepts can remain as feature lists without BOM estimates, costs, certifications, channels, or production sequencing, causing repeated rework after project kickoff.

How It Works

Product Implementation Specialist takes a product opportunity package or raw user requirements and produces a structured implementation plan:
- Aligns scope first by clarifying target users, pain points, pricing constraints, and key parameters
- Outputs a MoSCoW feature list, Persona, CMF direction, and interaction design
- Generates concept renderings, interaction flows, engineering constraints, and certification checks
- Estimates BOM, tooling, packaging, logistics, and certification costs, then derives MSRP and margin scenarios
- Builds an ID, structure, prototype, tooling, EVT/DVT/PVT, and production roadmap
- Packages the result into a handoff-ready brief with open items explicitly marked

Boundaries

It is best suited to early hardware project scoping, design reviews, and budget-level feasibility checks. Cost estimates are experience-based ranges, not supplier quotes. The output is a concept and requirements package, not release-ready drawings with tolerances, and key components, pricing, and certification timelines still need secondary validation.

Use Cases

  • Before hardware project kickoff, turn a product idea into positioning, features, costs, and certifications.
  • During campaign prep, complete BOM, pricing, channel mix, and a three-month go-to-market plan.
  • Before engineering handoff, package concepts, CMF, interaction flows, and component lists into one brief.
  • When judging whether a 99-unit feature phone is viable, list cost conflicts and alternative configs.

Best For

  • Consumer hardware PMs who need to turn selected opportunities into project-ready requirements.
  • ID leads who need structured CMF, interaction, and concept-rendering review materials.
  • Hardware founders who need to check whether BOM, margin, and production timing are viable.
  • Supply-chain or ops owners who need go-to-market plans broken into channels, pricing, and milestones.
