About this skill

Problem it solves

Founders early in a raise often get stuck on concrete questions: whether the BP and materials are ready, which TS terms carry higher risk, and what to do after repeated rejections or slow investor feedback. OPC Funding Assistant turns these into structured diagnosis, clause review, and pacing advice instead of relying on gut feeling.

How it works

It accepts natural language and can also use BP files, TS drafts, or data tables. On first use, it captures stage, experience, style, and communication frequency to build a founder profile. Core capabilities include:
- Funding diagnosis: 8-dimension scoring via funding_diagnosis.py, with weak spots and suggestions.
- Capital EQ guidance: handling anxiety, frustration, or negotiation pressure, including TS clause breakdowns and response scripts.
- Progress guidance: milestone-based next steps and pacing recommendations.

The flow identifies intent, then applies rule scripts or templates. For example, Liquidation Preference > 1x can trigger a red-flag check; clause outputs include conclusion, risk, rationale, and fallback options. Responses follow a conclusion, evidence, and action structure.

Boundaries

It is useful for early-stage fundraising preparation, BP self-checks, and TS framework analysis, but it does not replace lawyers, accountants, or professional services beyond public channels. Files should be sanitized before upload, and deal-specific risks should still be reviewed against the full transaction context.

Use Cases

  • Review a Pre-A BP and milestones to find funding-readiness gaps using 8-dimension scoring.
  • Check a TS clause such as a 1.5x liquidation preference for risk and fallback language.
  • Plan next financing steps and investor follow-up scripts after repeated polite rejections.
  • Set stage, style, and frequency profile before asking natural-language funding readiness questions.

Best For

  • Pre-A founders who need to diagnose BP, valuation narrative, and funding-readiness gaps.
  • Early CEOs or COOs who need to flag TS risks and prepare negotiation fallbacks.
  • Team leaders after repeated rejections who need pacing, milestones, and investor scripts.
  • Independent founders without external FA support who want advisory-style financing guidance.
