Problem

IMA note and knowledge-base operations are spread across multiple APIs and are easy to misuse: note writes can become garbled by encoding issues, PowerShell 5.1 may silently convert request bodies to GBK, knowledge-base uploads require preserving original filenames and binary content, and the boundary between notes and knowledge-base is easy to confuse. This skill turns those API constraints into concrete routing and validation rules, reducing misrouted calls and irreversible data corruption.

How It Works

Notes module: search notes, browse notebooks, fetch note content, create notes, and append content, using APIs such as import_doc and append_doc.
Knowledge-base module: upload files, add web links, search knowledge bases, browse knowledge-base content, and retrieve original media info, commonly through create_media, add_knowledge, and get_media_info.
Routing rules: route to notes when the target is note content; route to knowledge-base when the target is a knowledge-base entry, file upload, or link; for cross-module tasks, read both sub-skills before executing in order.
Encoding constraints: validate content and title as valid UTF-8 before note-write APIs; keep uploaded binary files unchanged and do not re-encode them.
Runtime checks: verify client_id and api_key in ~/.config/ima before API calls, POST JSON to the official IMA endpoint, and distinguish script-level -100 and -200 errors from backend business code errors.
