About this skill
Problem
Asset management, FOF, and wealth teams often need to reconcile private fund registration, filed products, corporate affiliations, and penalty records before due-diligence interviews. The relevant facts can be scattered across public pages, making it hard to produce a reviewable issue list in advance. This skill frames the work as a research task: for a specified manager, candidate pool, or product list, it aligns registration status, AUM, key team, product structure, affiliated funding, and penalties or litigation, and aims to return conclusions with source links.
How It Works
The skill does not hard-code a full report pipeline; it invokes Cue’s research_run.py runner. Before execution, it reads the live buddies[] list from GET /api/playbook and selects a buddy by semantic matching rather than title keywords alone. Typical paths include:
- Manager due-diligence workbook: summarize registration, AUM, team, products, equity, penalties, and issue flags before interviews.
- FOF onboarding screening: classify candidate managers into admissible, needs-more-materials, or deferred, with red flags.
- Affiliation penetration: verify investors, related parties, cross-shareholdings, and shared executives, then map the hidden affiliation network.
- Product monitoring: track early liquidation, extensions, and completed liquidations.
The flow explicitly confirms credit usage before running. Deep research can take several minutes; results should retain source links, and if the runner returns empty or public data is insufficient, the output should state the gap rather than inventing conclusions.
Boundaries
This skill covers public data only and does not replace legal due diligence, audit, underwriting, or investment judgment. Available scenes and buddies are determined by the live API and may be temporarily unavailable due to display thresholds. When credits are exhausted, the network times out, or a long stream lacks a report section, handle it according to the prompt or retry; do not fabricate missing content.
Use Cases
- Before interviews, reconcile a private manager's AMAC registration, AUM, team, filed products, and penalties into a diligence draft with flagged issues.
- Screen 20 candidate private managers for registration status, AUM consistency, and disclosure red flags, then classify them into admissible, pending, or deferred.
- Trace a private manager's investors and related parties for cross-shareholdings, shared executives, or other registered private funds, and map hidden affiliations.
- Monitor listed private fund products for early liquidation, extension, or completed liquidation, and raise alerts with source checks when status changes.
Best For
- FOF due-diligence analysts who must classify candidate private managers into admissible, pending-materials, or deferred.
- Asset-management investment managers who need a pre-interview checklist of a private manager's registration, AUM, team, products, and penalty flags.
- Wealth-channel managers who want to watch key private fund products for early liquidation, extension, or completion.
- Compliance or risk staff who need to verify private fund related parties, investors, cross-shareholdings, and shared executives.
