About this skill

Problem Framing

In A-share style tracking, reading a single index move can easily turn short-term noise into a false trend claim. This skill addresses a narrower question: is the market currently tilted toward large-cap or small-cap names, is that tilt in a historically extreme range, and does the distribution suggest mean reversion? It is for style positioning, not individual stock timing.

How It Works

The skill pulls relative strength data from the Daxiapi interface, comparing CSI 2000 and CSI 300, then places the current differential against a roughly two-year historical distribution. Key outputs include:
- Large-cap versus small-cap differential: recent CSI 2000 performance minus recent CSI 300 performance; positive values favor small caps, negative values favor large caps.
- Current style: a state label such as extreme small-cap strength or balanced large-cap tilt, derived from the differential and historical percentile.
- Historical percentile: the current differential's rank within the recent distribution, used to distinguish ordinary noise from tail conditions.

A practical workflow is to first locate the current style bucket, then check whether the differential is widening or narrowing, and finally interpret the likely funding behavior. For example, extreme small-cap strength may coincide with high retail speculative activity, while extreme large-cap strength may be more institution-led.

Boundaries and Notes

This skill is not intended for individual buy/sell signals, fundamental or earnings interpretation, sector analysis, bonds, funds, futures, or forex, and it does not provide real-time intraday signals or automated trading instructions. Data are typically updated after the close, and empty responses can occur on non-trading days or before data generation. If 401 or 429 errors appear, verify token configuration and request pacing first.

Use Cases

  • Compare CSI 2000 and CSI 300 after the close to see whether the market favors large or small caps.
  • Use historical percentile to spot extreme large-cap or small-cap strength instead of normal noise.
  • Add style positioning, funding characteristics, and mean-reversion hints to a rotation report.
  • Query market-level style signals after close to infer institutional versus speculative tilt.

Best For

  • Quant research assistant tracking daily large-cap versus small-cap strength differentials and historical percentiles.
  • Market review writer needing to label style buckets and funding characteristics in reports.
  • Advisory strategist distinguishing balanced large-cap tilt from extreme small-cap strength.
  • Strategy monitoring engineer integrating API fields for style differential and percentile.
