Problem
Localizing a video across languages is not just translating text. It also involves hard subtitles, speech, subtitle rendering, and voice cloning. Calling Tencent Cloud MPS by hand requires coordinating SDK calls, COS objects, task polling, region settings, and billing confirmation, which makes it easy to submit wrong parameters or duplicate charged tasks.
How It Works
This skill emits commands centered on one main script, python3 scripts/mps_video_dubbing.py, for dubbing-grade video translation. It selects the recognition source with --mode ocr or --mode asr, sets --src-lang and --dst-lang, and explicitly chooses --burn-subtitle or --no-burn-subtitle. When parameters are incomplete, it can suggest an --interactive wizard command. Input source rules are strict: local files use --local-file, explicit COS paths use --cos-input-key, and HTTP/HTTPS or cos:// URLs use --input-url. By default the task polls automatically and can download artifacts; --no-wait is added only when the user explicitly asks not to wait. Before submission it warns about charges and requires --confirm-charges, then displays the TaskId. It also supports --query-task, --list-languages, and --dry-run.
Boundaries
The skill depends on Tencent Cloud MPS and COS, so credentials, region, and output bucket must be configured correctly. OCR is suitable for videos with hard subtitles that need removal, while ASR suits speech recognition without hard-subtitle removal. Watermark or logo removal is out of scope. All processing tasks may incur charges, while queries, language listings, and --dry-run do not.
