About this skill

Problem

Enterprise strategy work often gets stuck at framework checklists, metric dumps, or weak executive alignment. strategy-master is meant to turn vague business pressure into a decision problem: who decides, what is the deadline, what counts as success, and which uncertainties matter.

How It Works

  • Strategic analysis: applies SWOT, Porter Five Forces, VRIO, and value-chain lenses when useful, while challenging assumptions and asking for counter-evidence.
  • Commercial judgment: connects ROIC, FCF, LTV/CAC, unit economics, industry structure, and organizational 7S gaps.
  • Option generation: asks for at least three materially different alternatives with logic, resource needs, risks, and a recommendation.
  • Communication and execution: produces a one-line positioning, elevator pitch, stakeholder alignment, KPI monitoring, and scenario-based adjustment.

Boundaries

It is best used as a strategy analysis, review, and execution-planning aid, not as a substitute for audit, legal, or investment due diligence. Output quality depends on credible inputs and still requires attention to political constraints, capability gaps, and cash-flow reality.

Use Cases

  • Prepare a one-page strategic summary for a board meeting, listing three alternative plans, resource needs, risks, and recommendation.
  • Map a new market's competitive structure: players, relationships, value flows, substitutes, and cross-industry threats.
  • Review a growth proposal by adding CAC, LTV, payback period, cash-flow impact, and reversibility tradeoffs.
  • Rewrite a 30-minute strategy presentation as a story line: dilemma, insight, direction, action, and vision.

Best For

  • Founders or CEOs who need to explain business pressure, alternatives, and resource allocation to a board.
  • Strategy leads who must translate a new business growth plan into financial metrics and organizational capability gaps.
  • Operations owners reviewing market-entry options and identifying competitive structure and substitute threats.
  • Executives preparing an investor-facing strategy narrative with risks and contingencies.
