About this skill

Problem

Research project descriptions often state the background, methods, and objectives, but they do not produce a figure structure suitable for a thesis, grant proposal, or journal paper. Hand-drawn SVGs can suffer from unclear hierarchy, mixed arrow semantics, overly saturated colors, clipped labels, and misaligned modules. This skill targets research workflows and technical roadmaps, rather than generic statistical charts or theoretical models, and outputs an editable .svg file that follows common Chinese academic figure conventions: white background, low-saturation pastel fills, dashed grouping, and staged progression.

How It Works and Limits

  • Pick a diagram type first: choose A vertical stage flow, B three-column framework, C layered architecture, D bidirectional coupling, E multi-scale matrix, or F concept ring.
  • Compose reusable patterns: combine P1 title, P2 stage, P3 grouping, P4 module, P5 arrow semantics, P6 shape semantics, and P8 color patterns.
  • Apply layout constraints: control canvas ratio, font size, border weight, corner radius, spacing, and dash styles so Chinese labels remain readable after print.
  • Validate before delivery: check boundaries, arrow crossings, clipped text, terminology consistency, and standard editable SVG text elements.

It fits research technical roadmaps, research flow diagrams, and research framework diagrams. It is not intended for experimental scatter plots, thematic maps, or complex interactive graphics. If the project involves strong spatial processes, multi-scenario parameters, or coupled subsystems, define the stages, inputs, outputs, and constraints first.

Use Cases

  • Drafting a vertical thesis roadmap from background, data, and methods to conclusions.
  • Structuring a multi-scale land-use and climate simulation framework for a grant proposal.
  • Mapping ecological supply-demand coupling with distinct solid, dashed, and bidirectional arrows.
  • Redrawing a journal research framework using white backgrounds, pastel colors, and editable SVG.

Best For

  • Graduate students writing theses who need standardized vertical research stage diagrams.
  • Researchers drafting grant proposals who must structure multi-scenario simulation logic clearly.
  • Academics publishing papers who need editable SVG frameworks with low-saturation academic colors.
