How It Works

The skill focuses on parsing translation requests and executing them reliably:

• Intent detection: recognizes translation requests using cues such as “translate,” “How do you say...,” or “翻译成.”
• Request parsing: separates the source text, target language, source language, and single or batch mode.
• Translation execution: prefers configured API providers when available and falls back to AI-based translation when no API is set or a call fails.
• Output formatting: supports concise results, source-included results, and detailed results, while preserving item alignment in batch output.

It covers 15+ languages, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Hindi, with automatic source-language detection for major languages.

Boundaries And Notes

The skill is best suited for translating clear text and batch term conversion, not as the sole quality gate for legal, medical, or financial documents. For batch translation, use clearly separated list items to avoid mixed sentences and misaligned output. When a phrase such as Bonjour or thank you could come from multiple languages, explicitly specifying the source language is safer. If an API is configured, verify provider availability and key permissions; when using the AI fallback, tone and politeness level may vary with context.
