About this skill

Problem

Public fund research often spreads across multiple sources: basic profile, multi-period returns, drawdown, Sharpe ratio, manager commentary, top holdings, and sector concentration. Manual summaries can miss range attribution, treat holdings as real-time information, or omit a standard disclaimer. This skill narrows the task into a structured analysis of a specific public fund.

How It Works

  • Resolve the fund name or 6-digit fund code to identify the target fund.
  • Call data tools via the DeepQ MCP Server, including fundBasicInfo, fundPerformance, fundRecentViews, and fundUnderAssets in parallel where possible.
  • If the user requests a period such as “last 3 months” or “year to date,” call fundRangePerformance on demand for range performance attribution.
  • Assemble the report with fixed sections: basic information, multi-period performance, custom range performance, latest manager views, underlying holdings analysis, and a brief overall assessment.

Boundaries And Notes

  • Suitable for active/passive equity, bond, and mixed public funds; it is not a substitute for portfolio construction, tax, compliance, or personalized investment advice.
  • Holdings data are often quarterly delayed; use the latest disclosed filing for current top holdings.
  • Include the disclaimer that past performance does not guarantee future returns when outputting performance-related conclusions.

Use Cases

  • Analyze a public fund’s type, size, fees, manager, one-year return, drawdown, and Sharpe ratio.
  • When asked how a fund performed over the last half year, generate multi-period results and range attribution.
  • Assess a mixed fund’s underlying assets by listing top holdings, sector concentration, and allocation ratios.
  • Before writing a fund assessment, summarize the manager’s recent market views and add a performance disclaimer.

Best For

  • Fund research associates who need a structured single-fund analysis draft.
  • Buy-side researchers who verify multi-period performance, manager views, and sector concentration.
  • MCP integration engineers who configure the DeepQ tool inside an agent and test fund queries.
  • Investment operations staff who compile fund profiles, fees, and disclosed holdings for explanatory materials.
