Problem Context

Undergraduate and master’s thesis work often stalls on specific blockers: topics that are too broad, literature reviews that read as an author-by-author list, disorganized IMRaD sections, citation formats that do not match school templates, high similarity scores, and under-prepared defenses. This skill targets those concrete issues and turns them into actionable steps rather than generic writing advice.

How It Works

• Topic funneling: narrows from a field to a subtopic, then to a clearly bounded research question RQ, checking whether literature, data, and workload fit the degree program.
• Proposal and review: outlines proposal modules, length guidance, and a claim–evidence–limitation framework for literature review, avoiding mere enumeration of prior work.
• Writing and citation: advances the draft through IMRaD structure, supports GB/T 7714 numeric or author-year formats depending on the school, and requires citations to be real and verifiable.
• Similarity and defense: explains how mainstream similarity systems compare overlapping text or semantic fingerprints, recommends rewriting, consolidated citation, and standard phrasing, and provides statement, slide, and anticipated question checklists.

Boundaries and Caveats

The skill provides guidance only; it does not write the thesis for the student, fabricate data or references, or produce a submittable full draft. It is intended for undergraduate or master’s thesis stages such as topic selection, proposal, drafting, similarity reduction, and defense preparation. Lightweight short assignments and journal-grade academic writing are outside its target scope. Students remain responsible for analysis, conclusions, data integrity, and authorship.
