About this skill
What It Solves
In regulatory letters, press releases, and trading suspension orders, words like crypto, token, and blockchain often appear, but the key risk is not the keyword alone. The more important signals are concrete on-chain addresses, token amounts, transfer counterparties, or verifiable transaction descriptions. Manual PDF review can miss small-font passages and makes it hard to build a consistent evidence trail. SEC PDF Virtual Asset Scan turns this check into a structured report: it summarizes risk by file, quotes matched passages, and separates “regulatory mention of virtual-asset business” from direct on-chain transaction evidence.
How It Works
Based on the pdf-crypto-scanner logic, the skill produces:
- Summary table: file, on-chain address, virtual-currency amount, keywords, and risk level.
- Per-file details: source, document type, date, and involved parties.
- Detection results: whether it finds BTC, ETH, TRON, or EVM wallet addresses; whether it finds explicit virtual-currency amounts; and which medium- or weak-signal keywords are hit.
- Passage excerpts: preserves evidence such as bitcoin, cryptocurrency, and digital wallet in the original context.
It first looks for address patterns and amount patterns, then ranks keyword signals, and finally assesses context. For example, if an SEC suspension order mentions a company developing a Bitcoin wallet app but contains no on-chain address or precise amount, the risk should be rated medium rather than treated as direct on-chain transaction evidence.
Boundaries
This report is useful for initial triage and evidence organization, not for final compliance conclusions. If sec.gov access is restricted, the text may be reconstructed from public secondary sources rather than directly extracted from the PDF. Scanned PDFs require OCR before text detection. For high-risk findings, preserve the original PDF, matched passages, address formats, amount units, and generation time so reviewers can verify the evidence.
Use Cases
- Review SEC suspension orders to flag on-chain addresses, token amounts, and crypto keywords.
- Compile evidence from Bitcoin-related filings by capturing matched passages and risk levels.
- Screen OTC press-release PDFs to distinguish regulatory references from direct on-chain claims.
- Check text extractability before reviewing scanned PDFs and generate keyword-hit summaries.
Best For
- Securities compliance analysts who need to check regulatory PDFs for verifiable on-chain clues.
- Crypto risk researchers who need to archive addresses, amounts, and keyword evidence in tables.
- Legal assistants handling OTC company materials who need to separate business mentions from direct claims.
- PDF pipeline engineers who need standardized hit reports for extractable text files.
