Problem

For invention and utility model patents, the first office action often raises issues under novelty, inventive step, sufficient disclosure, or claim clarity. A response needs the examiner's conclusion, cited prior art, claim scope, and amendment basis to be separated from internal analysis before drafting a submittable statement.

How It Works

The skill runs a structured first office action response workflow:
- Parse inputs: extract notice, claims, and content from the notification and application documents.
- Structure the opinion: identify application number, title, notice type, dates, and claim-by-claim objections.
- Generate strategy: map objections to Article 22, Article 26(3), Article 26(4), and Article 33, then produce rebuttal points and amendment suggestions.
- Draft the statement: produce wfResult with amendment explanation, legal argumentation, distinguishing features, inventive step reasoning, and a request to continue examination.
- Quality check: enforce formatting, completeness, legal accuracy, and claim self-sufficiency, avoiding references such as as stated in paragraph X of the specification.

Boundaries

It is scoped to the first office action for invention or utility model patents, not second office actions, reexamination, or invalidation. Prior art analysis depends on the notification, cited claim texts, or available search sources. Regex extraction assumes standard section headings, and unusual document layouts may require manual correction. All amendments must remain within the original disclosure.
