Problem Addressed

Factory improvement work often gets stuck on two issues: unclear methods for standard time, line balancing, VSM, SMED, or OEE, and unreliable numbers when inputs are incomplete and estimates are made by experience. This skill turns IE and lean production questions into a practical workflow: identify the subtopic, search the knowledge base, then output methods, templates, steps, or calculated results.

How It Works

• Basic IE: covers process analysis, motion analysis, work measurement, IE seven methods, ECRS, and line balancing.
• Lean tools: provides templates and implementation notes for VSM, SMED, TPM, OEE, standard work, A3, poka-yoke, and kanban.
• Lean systems and emerging practices: supports lean house, DBS/MBS, transformation roadmaps, and AI+lean planning.
• IE calculator: runs scripts such as takt_time.py, line_balance.py, and oee_calc.py for deterministic calculations, asking for missing inputs before estimating.

Boundaries

It is best used as a method reference, template organizer, and calculation checker, not as a replacement for on-site data collection, equipment diagnostics, or organizational decisions. Results depend on accurate inputs; if the knowledge base is insufficient, supplement with current site data or external references.
