About this skill
What problem it addresses
Reading a Liu Yao hexagram is harder than naming the gua. The useful question is whether the scattered line-level data can be turned into a checkable inference chain: which useful-god is in scope, what the strength or weakness evidence is, how moving lines act, and why a timing judgment follows. This skill organizes the Gushi Zhenquan framework into a repeatable analysis path.
How it works
- Input handling: accepts a complete chart, casting time plus coin results, or only the original and changed gua; when assembly is missing, it derives
shi/yin, six relatives, six spirits, branches, and moving lines from palace, stem, and branch rules. - Useful-god selection: maps question types to
shi, wealth, officer, parents, siblings, or offspring; for object guessing, wealth is usually primary, with adjustments by item type. - Scenario switching: wealth, marriage, lost items, and object guessing shift the useful-god and evaluation dimensions, avoiding one generic answer for all questions.
- Reasoning frame: cross-checks useful-god strength, moving-line generation or restraint, returning generation or restraint, void, break, tomb, extinction, shi-yin relations, and six-spirit imagery, then produces an overall judgment, rationale, timing, and advice.
Where it should not be used
It is useful for structuring Liu Yao notes into a reviewable inference text, not for replacing fact-checking, legal judgment, or major life decisions. Incomplete inputs should be filled first, and conclusions remain context-dependent.
Use Cases
- A user has the original and changed gua but no full chart, and needs shi/yin, six relatives, six spirits, branches, and moving lines derived.
- A user provides six coin-casting results and needs a six-line table, plus useful-god strength, moving-line restraint, and timing analysis.
- For wealth, marriage, lost items, or exams, a user needs the right useful-god selected and a judgment with rationale and advice.
- In object guessing, a user needs item material, category, and shape inferred from elements, six relatives, six spirits, and line positions.
Best For
- Liu Yao learners who want to turn useful-god, strength, and moving-line rules into repeatable reasoning steps.
- traditional divination researchers who need to convert chart data into structured tables and check shi/yin, six relatives, and six spirits.
- cultural writers who need to organize case analysis around useful-god, moving-line effects, and timing rationale.
- object-guessing practitioners who need to infer item traits from elements, six relatives, six spirits, and line positions.
