DSH Desktop ships with a plain white backdrop that tends to feel flat after a day or two of use. dsh-whale-particles drapes a thousand-or-more particles into the silhouette of a whale, or a transparent PNG you import, across the entire interface. Every particle carries its own low-frequency, smooth drift, so the whole figure breathes and glides with an organic, unscripted rhythm.

Two interaction modes are available. In manual mode, particles near your cursor stir gently and settle back when you move away; in auto mode, a wave sweeps across the figure in an arbitrary 360-degree direction while a full-screen breath slowly rises, holds, and fades, with waves chaining seamlessly. The subject switches instantly between the default whale and any transparent photo you load; the engine extracts the alpha channel, compresses it into a few-KB mask, and stores it only in localStorage. Every parameter lives in a single settings tab with segmented controls that apply and save in real time, and nothing floats on the main interface.

At mount time the plugin auto-discovers DSH CSS-module hash class names, so interface transparency and layout micro-adjustments usually survive DSH upgrades without manual patching; the particle engine itself has zero dependency on UI class names and renders on every version. It is made for long-term DSH Desktop users who want a living, breathing background but no floating bars or quick panels cluttering the viewport.
