About this plugin

When iterating React + Tailwind components through a Harness Agent, shuffling raw text diffs back and forth is slow and makes it hard to see the big picture. dsh-opendesigner adds a local visual canvas to DeepSeek Harness 0.1.5-rc.2: drag layouts, tweak styles, and edit component structure in the browser with true WYSIWYG feedback, instead of pasting code into a terminal over and over.

Safety is built in. All file operations stay inside the project root; absolute paths, parent-directory traversal, and symlink escapes all trip a PATH_JAIL guard. Destructive writes additionally require an explicit approval channel from a trusted Host, so a model returning approve: true on its own has no effect. Designs can be saved as .designer/canvas.json and applied to the project once an Agent batch produces a file diff. Without an API key the plugin falls back to a mock mode for offline debugging.

Best for developers driving front-end work through Harness who want to replace line-by-line text edits with whole-screen visual previews. Requires Node 22.14 or later; peers dsh-tools and cordis.

Use Cases

  • Drag layouts and adjust styles on a browser canvas while an Agent iterates front-end components
  • Save a design as canvas.json and apply it to the project once an Agent batch produces a file diff
  • Preview component rendering locally in mock mode during offline debugging

Best For

  • Engineers driving front-end component development with DeepSeek Harness
  • Developers who want whole-screen visual previews instead of line-by-line text edits
  • Teams that need path jail and approval channels to secure destructive writes
