The DSH web GUI ships without a native way to delete sessions, so cleaning up old conversations means hand-editing directories with real risk of mistakes and no safety net. dsh-session-cleaner drops a session trash bin straight into the sidebar, giving you archive, preview, restore, and permanent-delete controls without ever leaving the DSH interface.

The design centres on two-level reversible deletion: the first pass moves the physical session directory into .session-cleaner-trash and purges the workspace.json cache, letting you restore it at any time; only a second, explicit action triggers the irreversible permanent purge. A name-collision guard extracts the exact sessionId from the React Fiber tree instead of guessing by title, and the confirmation dialog side-by-side shows the first user instruction of every session sharing the same name so you can tell them apart. A conversation preview built on multi-frame zstd decompression plus JSONL extraction lets you inspect content before acting, filtering out system-injected messages to surface only real human prompts. On top of that, a scheduled auto-purge task with adjustable retention days and check intervals handles expired entries in the background, while path-traversal validation and active-session rejection keep every step auditable and safe to undo.
