The default model selector in the dsh web GUI, while functional, can become cumbersome as the number of integrated providers and models grows, turning into a long, scrolling grouped list that makes finding specific models inefficient. The dsh-model-picker plugin addresses this usability issue by redesigning the selector into a dual-column layout. On the left, a scrollable provider column with model-count badges gives a clear overview, while the right displays the models for the selected provider, also independently scrollable. This structure allows for smooth browsing even with hundreds of models. A key enhancement is the cross-provider search box, which instantly matches provider names, model names, or descriptions as you type, enabling quick navigation directly to the desired model. The plugin retains essential features like reasoning-effort switching and seamlessly synchronizes with the built-in model state, ensuring a consistent experience. It is ideal for any user of the dsh web GUI who frequently switches or manages multiple models—such as developers, researchers, or professionals relying on multi-model workflows—offering a more organized and efficient interface that helps maintain focus and productivity.
