By default the DSH interface is fully opaque, so whatever wallpaper sits on your desktop is invisible behind the panels. dsh-bg-changer drops a single Background Image row at the bottom of Settings > General, turning the workbench into a personalised desktop surface with zero host-source changes, zero build steps, and no extra runtime dependencies.

Upload an image in any common format (PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, SVG), choose fill, fit, stretch, or tile, then drag and scroll inside a true-to-aspect-ratio preview frame to crop the visible area. Slide opacity, blur, and darkening to taste, and use the UI Transparency control to make panels semi-transparent so the wallpaper actually shows through. Every adjustment applies instantly and is persisted to browser localStorage and IndexedDB, surviving page reloads and service restarts without re-uploading.

Built for DSH users who want a cosy, custom backdrop behind their chat without reaching for tsdown, pnpm, or host patching. Runs on any Chromium-based browser, keeps all data local to the current site origin, and never touches model context or DSH settings.
