Codex and Claude Code both ship a reasoning-effort slider right inside the composer, yet DeepSeek Harness never had one—tweaking the effort level always meant leaving the text you were in the middle of. plugin-effort-slider brings that control back to where you type: the model picker and the slider share a single bordered pill with a thin separator, the slider sitting just to the right of the model name, so your eyes never leave the cursor.

The slider advances by notches rather than a free drag, each notch mapping to a real effort level the model exposes, usually two to seven. Release to apply; or tab in and use arrow keys, Home, and End for precise stepping, with a proper slider role for screen readers. Push it to the top notch and the track lights up with a slow-moving gradient, a small nod to DSH Deep diving shimmer, frozen if you prefer reduced motion. Every color is pulled from DSH theme variables, so light mode, dark mode, and third-party theme plugins all carry over automatically. Labels follow the DSH locale in English, French, and Chinese, while model and effort names stay exactly as the model sends them.

Built for writers and engineers who work in the DSH web profile with a model that exposes reasoning efforts. The plugin is purely client-side UI: no host permissions, no network calls, no external services. Delete the folder and DSH forgets it was ever there.
