The default DSH Web GUI leans into a neutral, tech-forward tone. If you want a reading experience that feels printed on paper, the old options were either hand-writing CSS or installing theme plugins that depend on the ctx.theme registration chain—plugins that all broke when DSH restructured its internal topology. dsh-theme-newsprint takes a different path: pure CSS injection, no runtime, no theme-service subscription. It activates on a simple page refresh and leaves zero residue when removed.

The theme ports the newsprint typographic character from Typora into DSH. In light mode, warm white paper meets deep ink text with a single ocean-blue accent; in dark mode the base is warm brown-black rather than pure black, and the dark-step spacing is deliberately wider than the light-side so surfaces do not blur together. Body text runs through a Georgia → PT Serif → Source Han Serif stack, and typographic details are rebuilt for a newspaper feel: a hairline rule under headings, a bold left border with italic for blockquotes, zebra-striping on tables, and links that show no underline until hovered. Neutral colors are locked to a warm paper scale, all semi-transparent values are derived from the current ink color, and the caption tier is reserved for metadata only—constraints that keep both schemes clean on any background.

Ideal for DSH users who prefer printed layouts, serif reading rhythm, and a papery interface. No marketplace, skin-center, or third-party packages required. MIT-licensed, uses system font families, and ships no embedded font files.
