DSH Web UI is built for speed and modularity, yet after a long coding session the interface still looks like a cold, utilitarian workbench. dsh-web-whale-maid places an anime maid whale right inside the Web UI so that every LLM invocation is met with a clear emotional reaction, turning a task completion into a small, warm ritual.

The core loop is strictly gated by real LLM calls: the whale transitions between eight sprite animations (idle, hungry, happy, angry, eating, scared, sad, thinking) only when a model is actually invoked, and stays in its current state otherwise. A 30000-Token satiety pool uses tokens as rice, with four food tiers from a single grain to a full pot. Speech bubbles persist on screen until the next response arrives, and a one-click dormant toggle fully unmounts the overlay DOM, severs all event watchers, and stops Token consumption without requiring a page reload. Up to 20 dialogue entries are kept in a speech ledger persisted to both disk and localStorage.

It is ideal for developers who enjoy desktop pets and want an extra layer of ritual around their AI workflow, and for users who switch between desktop and mobile browsers: the antique cupboard modal auto-scales to the viewport, and feeding an item closes the modal instantly so the thinking animation plays right on the main screen.
